Reviews

All Music Guide – Review – copyright

This direct-to-disk double LP is "a cut below" the usual Dave Brubeck recordings. Pianist Brubeck is in good form and his rhythm section (with bassist Chris Brubeck and drummer Dan Brubeck) is fine but keyboardist Darius Brubeck's electronic effects get tiring quickly. Also, some of the performances are much too long and these renditions of "Blue Rondo à la Turk" and "Take Five" are not in the same league with most of the other versions.
